Review: Nichido Press Powder

10:41:00 PM

Happy Friday everyone! Today, I'll be reviewing Nichido Pressed Powder. For the past few days, I've been testing out different foundations. Some of them are not long-lasting. But of course powders can do the trick. They go directly on top of your foundation to maximize longevity. They are designed to set and mattify makeup so I went out to look for a product that will, too, override my oily skin. So last week, I bought the Nichido pressed powder.

According to the sales lady, this is a good oil control product. For 100 pesos, it's definitely worth a try. However, after 2-3 hours, the powder slides off my T-zone. And No, I'm not willing to blot every now and then.

It comes in a sturdy blue sleek compact with a huge mirror. The box description goes,  "A fine textured, matte finish pressed powder that makes your skin looks smooth, natural and flawless. Perfect for touch-ups."

When I swatched this powder, I was amazed of its pigmentation. It provides a matte finish that is good with foundations that are dewy. Though coverage is really nice, I find it chalky and cannot control oil. Nakaka enhance pa ng eyebags.

Sadly, as opposed to those who gave this product a hype, I don't like it.

Review: Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain

11:59:00 PM

The first time I saw this lip product, I instantly assumed that it's a liquid lipstick. So yes, the beautiful packaging made me skip the reading part.

Today I'll be reviewing Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain in shade 010 LA Exclusive. The Moisture stain promises the hydration of a balm, shininess of a gloss and pigmentation of a stain. I love all the three promises, but the last one I doubt.

I've read a lot of great hypes for this product so I grabbed one. Actually, it was not something that you will love at first swatch. Parang sayang pera. And I thought that I got the wrong shade for the nth time. The pigmentation isn't intense and I find the staining power minimal. However, after months of using it, I found it great for daily wear. The light color, moisture and hydration is all there. But if you are the type that is after that Pak-na-pak look. This won't work for you.

I use this baby only when I do super smokey eyes. It tones down the fierce look. Also, if i'm going out to pick up something in the market.

It's really a good product if you want your lips to look hydrated. I bought it for P 250 instead of the original price that is P 625. If this on a regular price, i believe it is not worth buying.  XD

Net weight: 8 ml

Wide petal applicator.

I like the packaging and the hydration it gives. Do I love it? If they will keep selling this for P 250, then it will be worth it.

Review: Loreal True Match Lumi Foundation

9:12:00 PM

Some of us are prudent in spending especially on makeup. We tend to search for the best product over the internet and make sure everyone else's agree before we make the purchase, right? Others may contest that it's easier and more practical to spend on the high end ones than to spend over and over again searching for the best drugstore product. However, if you are starting in the makeup business and would have 3 shades for every type of makeup, then drugstore would be far more economical.

Today, we will check on Loreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup SPF 20.

I stumbled upon this product a couple of times already when I googled "the best drugstore foundations"And based on some reviews, this product is said to have a flawless coverage with glow. With this, I opted for one. Anyway, if you are wondering where I got my foundation, I bought it from Chedelyn's store located in Pop Culture Trinoma.

The foundation the sales lady gave me is W5 Sand Beige that I found to be darker than my actual shade. So I checked online for the suitable shade for me.  Because I have green veins, I fall under the category of warm. I should be around W3 or W4.

THE PACKAGING. What I like about the product is that it comes with a sturdy glass bottle with pump. Pwede mabagsak.  Plus, with a pump. I can get the right amount of product. Commonly, you will only need just 1-2 pumps of product to cover up the entire face. Lastly, product weighs 30 ml. That's actually a lot.

The consistency of the product is liquid-y and easy to work with.

COVERAGE AND CONSISTENCY. In terms of coverage, it is lightweight and cannot cover up minor imperfections. The finish is dewy and it looks healthy and natural on the skin. I believe it will work best for those with dry and flawless skin.

I have been using this for a week now and sadly, I don't think this will be a favorite. It was only after 2-3 hours that my T-zone became pretty oily and after 6 hours that it enhanced my already oily face (kahit sa pisngi ma-oil) - that's on my forehead, left and right cheek, and nose.

In the photo below, I have a comparison of Loreal Lumi and True Match, I bought the Truematch first. I've read in blogs that they prefer the old formula so I tested them out. Both haven't lasted long. However, when it comes to coverage I find the formula of True Match better. As you see, my dark circles look brighter.

OVERALL. As the labels says, luminous, it is meant to give that radiant look, but ang lakas maka langis. I tried this with primer and setting powder, still my face ended up greasy. Will I still use it? Yes, but only in air conditioned places.
